First day in Mexico

Amsterdam Airport in the morning before i got on the
plane for Mexico
Last night i came to Mexico City. I had a good flight and after waiting 2 hours in line in immigration i was welcomed into Mexico. Here i was greeted by Lupita, her mom and her little brother. We went to their apartment that lies around an hour in car from the airport.

It's in an area outside of the metro system, but they are building tracks above the main road and from what i hear they are planning to open in July.

Good to be back!
Today i went out with Lupita and two of her friends that we both know from Mazatlan. We went to visit a museum. The entrance for them costs 5 pesos each, but i had to pay 55 because i wasn't from Mexico, still i don't think it was expensive though. The museum had paintings by the famous Mexican painter Diego Rivera, i have liked some of his pictures even before I had ever been in Mexico, so it was cool to see them in real life.

Having fun
After that we walked around and went to a place called Coyoacan where we found something to eat. We wanted to go to the movies, but unfortunately it would be too late for me and Lupita to find a bus home, so we went home. In the bus neither of us recognized the way we were going, so at one point we agreed that we would get off in the next stop. Then luckily Lupita started recognizing the area we were driving in and we stayed on the bus and got home safe :)

Within the next couple of days Lupita and I will go to Chiapas (where Lupita have lived most of her life) and visit some of her family and friends for a little while before we join the team in Mexico City.

So far I really enjoy being back in Mexico. There are so many good things here, friendly people, sun, warm weather, Lupita and good food, just to mention a few :)

Famous very expensive Mexican dogs that were worshiped by the Aztecs. Here they were standing completely still so that from the distanceyou couldn't tell dog from the statue :)
